Altruistic Surrogacy

Altruistic surrogacy is a surrogacy arrangement where a woman (the surrogate) carries and gives birth to a child for another individual or couple without receiving any financial compensation beyond medical and legal expenses. It is a selfless act, often undertaken by close family or friends who wish to help others achieve parenthood. In India, the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act only allows altruistic surrogacy, prohibiting commercial arrangements where the surrogate receives substantial financial payments.
